Bio Art

Bio Art is an under explored genre in India. Through Mireille Bourgeois's research and scholarship, we hope to introduce the possibilities of using it for creative exploration, while also generating dialogues and scope of discussion through the presentation and screening of works.

Mireille Bourgeois has an MA from the Centre for Curatorial Studies at Bard College. She has independently curated and contributed to programs throughout Canada, the US, and Germany, and has published critical writing for Visual Arts News, Creative Times Press, C-Magazine, the Canadian Film Institute. Bourgeois explores themes on synesthesia, nonsense, the sublime and stupidity, and is beginning an extensive research project in BioArt. She is the publisher and contributing writer for an artist monograph titled Permanent Revolution: Istvan Kantor (Feb. 2014), as well as Amanda Dawn Christie: Land Lost a critical artist catalogue with invited writers Scott Birdwise and Pip Chodorov. Upcoming projects include (im)mobile, a co-curated exhibit of Edith Fl├╝ckiger and Germaine Koh traveling to Canada (2014) and Switzerland (2016). Bourgeois is based in Nova Scotia, Canada.
