The XVII Convocation Ceremony of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

The Convocation ceremony will be virtual. The Degree/ Diploma will be dispatched by Speed Post/ Courier at the address entered in the registration form.

Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Chairman, National Education Policy Committee 2020 will be the Chief Guest for the Convocation.

The online registration for XVII Convocation commences from Thursday, October 29, 2020.

The term "persistence of vision" describes the optical phenomenon that makes animation possible. The same phrase could also be applied to the mind-set of a young (or not quite so young!) person who has his or her heart set on becoming an animator. For generations, each animated feature film has ignited in the minds of thousands of individuals the desire to be a part of the marvel they see on the screen.

So, we have designed ANIMEET event at Symbiosis Institute of Design which kick started in 2012 to give a proper direction to these ignited minds by providing them the Experience shared by Industry experts present at the event. The main aim behind ANIMEET is to provide a platform to Young Animators, Film Makers and Designers for promoting exchange of creative and technical knowledge in the Indian Art and Animation Industry with a view to strengthen the knowledge of the young talent across the country. The event creates an opportunity for the students to interact with industry professionals on varied topics like 2D Animation , VFX, Gaming, Experimental Animation and many more during the animated conversation.

 

We are glad to announce that a colorful and animated event kick started at Symbiosis Institute of Design in 2012 with a theme name ANIMEET is back this year. We have tried to rope in speakers who are most experienced in their genre of work and tried to serve you with knowledge from different topics of Animation.

"Akshar Aanand"- literally means infinite joy of lettering/calligraphy.

It is a compilation of calligraphic expressions & explorations of our Graphic Design student Kalpesh Devrukhkar (batch of 2017-21)! His motivation comes from the great work of Mr. Achyut Palav in the world of calligraphy.

Behance is the global platform for all designers to upload and showcase their work. Every year they host an event all over the world known as 'Behance Portfolio Review'.

This year it was on the 31st of October in Mumbai at ISDI, Lower Parel. There were 3 categories - Design, Illustration & Photography. Only 15 applicants got shortlisted in each category and stood a chance to attend the review.

Rigved Sathe & Payal Jagwani both 4th year Graphic Design students of SID got shortlisted in the design category in the top 15 and were invited to get their portfolios reviewed from the Industry's finest. There were people from NID, people working in the industry and some who had completed their masters as well in the top 15 shortlisted.

The jury panel was extremely impressed by Rigved & Payal's work and awarded them with the appreciation coin.
